Important Changes to Regulations for Students and Doctoral Candidates!
Starting July 1, 2025, changes to the regulations for students and doctoral candidates will come into effect.
- If you are enrolled in paid courses, it is necessary to provide evidence of payment for the entire semester or the full academic year of your studies.
- Changes in the verification of universities and other institutions educating foreigners – new provisions have been introduced in Articles 144 and 144a of the Act on Foreigners.
- Doctoral candidates – the first temporary residence permit will be granted for 2 years and 6 months.
When do the new rules apply?
The requirement for proof of tuition payment and the new rules for refusal or revocation of a permit also apply to proceedings initiated but not yet finalized with a binding decision by June 30, 2025.
The new duration of the residence permit for doctoral candidates applies to applications submitted on or after July 1, 2025.
