Currently, the deadlines for processing residency legalization cases, as mentioned above, have been suspended until September 30, 2025.

The changes extending the suspension of these deadlines to September 30, 2025, were introduced in the Act of May 15, 2024, amending the Act on Assistance to Ukrainian Citizens in Connection with the Armed Conflict on the Territory of that State and Certain Other Acts.

The suspension of deadlines was implemented due to the significant additional workload faced by voivodeship offices in the context of the current mass influx of foreigners from Ukraine and related phenomena. The regulation aims to allow the adjustment of procedures and administrative operations to address this exceptional migratory situation.

During the suspension period, the Governor is not obligated to inform the parties or their representatives about unresolved cases within the deadline. Additionally, complaints submitted to the Head of the Office for Foreigners regarding inactivity or prolonged proceedings by first-instance authorities in these matters are left unconsidered.

The cessation or delayed performance of actions by the authority conducting proceedings in such cases during the suspension period, until September 30, 2025, cannot serve as grounds for legal remedies concerning inactivity, delays, or violations of the party's right to have the case resolved without undue delay.
