Letters are delivered to the address indicated in the application or, if you appoint a representative, to the address of the representative.
You submit an application for financial assistance to the Governor to whom the application for permanent residence has been submitted.
Financial assistance is granted for up to 9 months.
Financial assistance is set at the amount of:
- during the first 3 months - the equivalent of 50% of the minimum remuneration for work in force in the year of submitting the application - for the applicant and his spouse and the equivalent of 50% of this amount for each minor child remaining under the parental authority of the applicant or his spouse,
- in the period from 4 to 9 months - respectively 60% of the above amounts.
Financial assistance is paid on a monthly basis by the Starosta appointed by the Governor in the decision granting the financial assistance.
It will be necessary to determine the form of payment to pay the financial assistance granted. The financial assistance may be paid in cash (at the counter of the relevant Poviat) or non-cash by transfer to the bank account indicated by the applicant on the declaration. The declaration may be submitted together with the application for a financial assistance or after obtaining the decision to grant a financial assistance to the Starosta indicated in the decision.
The financial assistance is not payable to a person who submitted an application for a permanent residence permit before 1 January 2017.
In the event of a decision refusing to grant a permanent residence permit, the payment of the financial assistanceshall be suspended by law.
If the decision to refuse permanent residence becomes final, the financial assistance will be forfeited.
The financial assistance is paid out of the limit of funds planned in the Budget Act. When the total amount resulting from applications for financial assistance with a payment date in a given year reaches the level of 75% of the planned expenses for the payment of assistance, the minister competent for internal affairs will announce the suspension of consideration of applications for financial assistance with a payment date for a given year, up to the time of securing funds for their payment in the Budget Act, and Governors suspend consideration of such applications.
Representative/delivering
If you go abroad and you do not appoint an attorney to handle the case, you should at least appoint an attorney for notification in Poland. If you did not indicate an attorney for notification, the letters intended for you will be left in the case file with the result of being delivered.

If you have appointed a proxy, attach the original power of attorney to the documents. If you have more than one attorney, remember to indicate which you want us to send the correspondence to you.
Originals/translations
Submit documents in original (for inspection) or authenticated copy. If you send the documents by post, send them in the original along with a request for their return, after it will be used for the official purposes - after the proceedings have been completed, we will send the originals back to you.
If you submit documents in a foreign language in the application, it is also required to submit a translation of the document into Polish by a certified/sworn translator. You can find a list of certified translators on the Ministry of Justice website
