We kindly inform you that on 30 September 2025, the Act of 12 September 2025 amending certain laws to verify the right of foreigners to family benefits and on the conditions of assistance to citizens of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict in the territory of that state entered into force.

The Act extends the validity of the existing aid provisions set out in the Act of 12 March 2022 on Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict in the territory of that state until 4 March 2026.

The legal stay of Ukrainian citizens (and certain members of their families) who, between 24 February 2022 and the present, arrived in Poland due to the warfare conducted on the territory of Ukraine has been extended until 4 March 2026.

The following have also been extended accordingly:

  • periods of stay and validity of national visas of Ukrainian citizens,
  • validity periods of temporary residence permits for Ukrainian citizens,
  • deadlines for Ukrainian citizens to leave the territory of Poland (pursuant to Article 299(6) of the Act of 12 December 2013 on Foreigners),
  • deadlines for voluntary return (currently voluntary departure) set out in decisions issued to Ukrainian citizens obliging them to return (pursuant to Article 315(1) of the Act on Foreigners),
  • validity periods of residence cards, Polish identity documents for foreigners, and “tolerated stay” permits issued to Ukrainian citizens,
  • preferential rules for conducting business activity by Ukrainian citizens, provided they conduct such activity on the basis of entry in the Central Register and Information on Economic Activity,
  • subsidiary rules for granting temporary residence permits to Ukrainian citizens.

We also recommend reviewing the official announcement of the Head of the Office for Foreigners on this subject.
