Interview/Hearing

Interview in the proceedings is intended to clarify the facts and the evidence collected during the procedure. The interview is conducted by an office employee in the Polish language. If you do not know the Polish language, you may bring an interpreter to the interview.

Choosing an appropriate interpreter to participate in the interview is crucial for legal security and the reliability of the administrative proceedings. For participation in the interview, you may choose either a sworn (certified) interpreter or a non-sworn interpreter. A non-sworn interpreter may only be an impartial person who is not related to you and is not directly involved in the matter in question.

However, choosing a sworn interpreter ensures a higher level of protection of the client’s interests. A sworn interpreter is a person of public trust who is obliged to maintain full objectivity. They are not an “assistant” to either party but a guarantor of reliable communication between the office and the client. Testimony given with the participation of a sworn interpreter has higher procedural credibility.

A sworn interpreter bears personal responsibility for the accuracy of the translation and is legally bound to maintain confidentiality regarding the facts and circumstances learned in connection with the translation. They protect privacy and sensitive data better than in the case of a non-sworn interpreter.

An interview conducted with the participation of a sworn interpreter is less likely to be challenged, which prevents the need to repeat the procedure and minimizes the risk of errors in the record that could negatively affect the outcome of the case.
