Residence card issued in Poland

Temporary stay:

  • a permit issued under Article 114 of the Act on Foreigners - entitles to perform work only under the conditions specified in the decision of a Governor.
    NOTE! The annotation on the residence card "Access to the labour market" does not mean that a foreigner can perform work for any employer. In case of each change of employer, it is necessary to apply to the Governor with a new application for temporary stay and work. A decision on granting a temporary residence and work permit entitles the foreigner to perform work only under the conditions specified in this permit.
  • a permit issued under Article 144 (full-time studies), Article 151(1) or (2) (scientific research), Article 158(2)(1) or (2) (family member of a Polish citizen), Article 159(1) (family reunification), Article 176 (victim of human trafficking) - no work permit is required.

Permanent residence/long-term EU resident - no work permit required
