Sufficient financial resources for a student

Sufficient financial resources are the minimum amount of funds that you must have to cover the costs of living for the whole period of your stay in Poland after deducting the expenses of return travel to your country of origin, your tuition fees and housing costs (housing costs shall apply to applications submitted after 27th April 2019).

If you are single, the minimum amount is 776 PLN for each month of your stay + the cost of your return travel to your country of origin + the cost of your tuition for each month of your stay + housing costs (housing costs shall apply to applications submitted after 27th April 2019).

If you are staying in Poland with your family members, who are dependent on you, you must have at least 600PLN for yourself and each family member for each month of stay + financial means to cover the cost of return travel for yourself and family members + the cost of tuition fees for each month of stay + housing costs (housing costs shall apply to applications submitted after 27th April 2019). .

The financial contribution to cover the costs of return travel to the country of origin is as follows:

  • 200PLN if you come from a country neighbouring with Poland,
  • 500PLN if you come from another than neighbouring with Poland EU-country,
  • 2500PLN if you come from a non-EU country.

If you have a return ticket to your home country, you do not need to have the money to cover your return travel costs.

The documents that confirm having sufficient funds are:

  • certificate from the bank with the information about the limit on your credit card, issued not earlier than one month before the date of submitting the application for temporary residence permit,
