  • Within 3 days of losing the document, please inform the Governor who issued your residence card about it (the form can be downloaded from our website). Report theft / loss of the card to the nearest Police Station.
  • To obtain a new card, apply for an exchange / issue of a residence card.

You can collect the card at any time throughout its period of validity. Remember that it is in your interest to receive it as soon as possible. The residence card, during its validity, confirms your identity in Poland and entitles, together with a travel document, to repeatedly cross the border without having to obtain a visa.

Yes. A PESEL number is not required to print a residence card. If you have a PESEL number, you can ask for it to be placed on your residence card.

The residence card can be issued without a registered address. When submitting an application / or after receiving a decision, make a written statement that you are asking for a card without a registered address. If you want the registered address to be included on the residence card, submit a  proof of permanent residence or temporary residence lasting over 2 months.

No, you need to collect your residence card in person. When you collect your card, the you need to be fingerprinted in order to verify the data stored electronically in the card chip.

Yes. At the time of applying or during the procedure, you need to submit a written request in which you appoint where you would like to collect your card (Poznań, Konin, Leszno, Kalisz or Piła). Information as to where your card is to be collected can be checked at: https://www.poznan.uw.gov.pl/cudzoziemcy-stan/. If the status of your case says: „The residence card is to be collected in [name of the city]”, it means you can come and collect it.
