On June 1, 2025, the Act on the Conditions for Permitting the Employment of Foreigners in the Territory of the Republic of Poland (Journal of Laws 2025, item 621) came into force. This act provides, among other things, for the creation of a list of entrepreneurs conducting business activity in the Republic of Poland that is of significant importance to the national economy.
The purpose of the list is to streamline the process of issuing work permits for foreigners in cases involving investments crucial to Poland’s national economy.
According to Article 28(1) of the act, the list includes companies that benefit from government support for new investments based on one of the following three forms of assistance:
- A decision on support under the Act of May 10, 2018, on supporting new investments;
- A grant agreement under the Program for Supporting Investments of Significant Importance to the Polish Economy for 2011–2030;
- A support agreement under the Regulation of the Minister of Development and Technology of September 29, 2023, on the provision of state aid for the implementation of investment projects of strategic importance for the transition to a net-zero emission economy.
