Travel restrictions announcement

We inform that due to the current epidemiological situation, according to the Regulation of the Minister of the Interior and Administration of 13th March 2020 (Dz. U. z 2020, poz. 435) effective 15th March 2020, from 00.00 hrs, most of the border crossings with the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and Ukraine are closed for entry and some of them have limited border traffic. At the same time, restrictions were introduced at the crossings with the Federal Republic of Germany, the Czech Republic, the Republic of Lithuania, the Slovak Republic. The country’s air and sea borders are also closed for entry. There are no restrictions on leaving the country.
A detailed list of border crossings and restrictions imposed can be found in Annexes 1 and 2 to the Regulation.

The restrictions imposed apply to entry into the territory of the Republic of Poland, but they do not apply to:

  1. citizens of the Republic of Poland;
  2. foreigners who are spouses or children of citizens of the Republic of Poland or remain under the constant care of citizens of the Republic of Poland;
  3. foreigners holding a Pole's Card;
  4. heads of diplomatic missions and members of the mission's diplomatic and consular staff, i.e. persons possessing a diplomatic rank and members of their families;
  5. foreigners who hold the right of permanent or temporary residence on the territory of the Republic of Poland;
  6. foreigners who have the right to work in the territory of the Republic of Poland, i.e. entitled to work under the same conditions as Polish citizens, holding a work permit, a seasonal work permit, a declaration of entrusting work to a foreigner on the territory of the Republic of Poland, and
  7. foreigners who drive the means of transport used for the carriage of goods.
In particularly justified cases, not included above, the Chief of the Border Guard post, after obtaining the consent from the Chief of the Border Guard, may allow a foreigner to enter the territory of the Republic of Poland following the procedure specified in the Act of 12th December 2013 on foreigners (Dz. U. z 2020 r. poz. 35).

Furthermore, all travellers coming to Poland must undergo 14 days of home quarantine. This means, that anyone - including Polish nationals -  returning from abroad will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. Restrictions apply until further notice.
