A visa issued by another Schengen state country

It authorizes a foreigner to work in Poland only if s/he has a work permit in Poland. Remember a foreigner holding this type of this visa may stay in the Schengen area for a maximum of 90 days within 180 days.

If s/he intends to stay in Poland for longer, then during their legal stay in Poland they should apply for a temporary residence and work permit to the Governor competent for their place of residence.

Holders of the following visas are not entitled to perform any work in Poland:

  • visas issued for purpose 1 - a tourist visa
    If a foreigner holds this type of visa and wants to work in Poland, s/he needs to go to to their country of origin and obtain a new work visa.
  • visas issued for purpose 2 - visiting family or friends 
    If a foreigner holds this type of visa and wants to work in Poland, s/he needs to go to to their country of origin and obtain a new work visa.
If a foreigner holding a tourist or visiting family/friends visa applies for a temporary residence and work permit, their application will not be considered!
  • visas issued for the purpose 22 - a temporary protection visa
    If a foreigner holds this type of visa and wants to work in Poland, s/he needs to go to to their country of origin and obtain a new work visa.
  • visas issued for the purpose 23 - a humanitarian reasons, due to state interest or international obligations visa
    If a foreigner holds this type of visa and wants to work in Poland, s/he needs to go to to their country of origin and obtain a new work visa.

Holders of the following visas are entitled to work during its validity without any work permit:

Holders of the following visas are not entitled to perform any work in Poland:

  • visas issued for purpose 1 - a tourist visa
    If a foreigner holds this type of visa and wants to work in Poland, s/he needs to go to to their country of origin and obtain a new work visa.
  • visas issued for purpose 2 - visiting family or friends 
    If a foreigner holds this type of visa and wants to work in Poland, s/he needs to go to to their country of origin and obtain a new work visa.
If a foreigner holding a tourist or visiting family/friends visa applies for a temporary residence and work permit, their application will not be considered!
  • visas issued for the purpose 22 - a temporary protection visa
    If a foreigner holds this type of visa and wants to work in Poland, s/he needs to go to to their country of origin and obtain a new work visa.
  • visas issued for the purpose 23 - a humanitarian reasons, due to state interest or international obligations visa
    If a foreigner holds this type of visa and wants to work in Poland, s/he needs to go to to their country of origin and obtain a new work visa.
