Invitation

Who can apply?

You can apply for entry of the invitation to the register of invitations if you are:

  • a Polish citizen residing in Poland, or
  • a citizen of another Member State of the European Union, Member State of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) – parties to the agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation, or a member of their family, residing in Poland and having the right of residence or the right of permanent residence in Poland, or
  • a foreigner staying in Poland directly before granting the invitation legally and continuously for 5 years, or
  • a foreigner who holds a permanent residence permit or a residence permit for a long-term resident of the EU, or
  • you represent a legal person or an unincorporated organization with registered office in Poland.
Remember that if a legal person applies, it needs to be signed by the representative who is indicated in the National Court Register (KRS) as authorized to contract commercial liabilities.
The inviting party promises to cover the costs related to the foreigner's stay in Poland. If the inviting party has not fulfilled the obligations resulting from the invitation issued, e.g. covering expenses associated with the visit of a foreigner, the State Treasury or other entities may assert their claims against the inviting person.
An invitation for a foreigner does not entitle the foreigner to work in Poland. The procedure for entering invitations to the register of invitations is not appropriate if the purpose of the stay in the Republic of Poland is to perform work.
