Data: 01.04.2025Changes in Asylum Law

As of March 27, 2025, an amendment to the Act on Granting Protection to Foreigners on the Territory of the Republic of Poland has come into force. Among other changes, it introduces a legal basis for temporarily restricting the right to apply for international protection. This restriction was already implemented by a regulation of the Council of Ministers dated March 27, 2025, based on Article 33a(5) of the Act of June 13, 2003, on Granting Protection to Foreigners in Poland (Journal of Laws of 2025, items 223 and 389).

Data: 20.09.2024 Important Updates to the Residence Application Process

To streamline the process for submitting applications for temporary residence, permanent residence, and EU long-term resident status, new rules for scheduling appointments at the Department for Foreigners will take effect from October 1 of this year.

Starting October 1, all applications must be submitted by mail to the Department for Foreigners in Poznań or at one of our regional offices. Applications must be submitted no later than the last day of the foreigner’s legal stay in Poland.
