Data: 20.09.2024 Important Updates to the Residence Application Process

To streamline the process for submitting applications for temporary residence, permanent residence, and EU long-term resident status, new rules for scheduling appointments at the Department for Foreigners will take effect from October 1 of this year.

Starting October 1, all applications must be submitted by mail to the Department for Foreigners in Poznań or at one of our regional offices. Applications must be submitted no later than the last day of the foreigner’s legal stay in Poland.

Legal Residence for Ukrainian Citizens

The legal residence of Ukrainian citizens (and specified family members) who arrived in Poland due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine between February 24, 2022, and September 30, 2025, has been extended until September 30, 2025. The amendment to the regulations has been published in the Journal of Laws and will come into effect on July 1, 2024.

The Governor of Wielkopolska has secured European Union funding for the project "Direction Wielkopolska: Migrants in the Spotlight". This initiative is dedicated to third-country nationals legally residing in Poland.

Our project targets four main areas: facilitating easier access to information, developing local IT tools, enhancing staff skills, and improving customer service standards.

Remember that you can become a victim of human trafficking almost everywhere.

Pay attention if someone:

  • has taken away your passport or your ID document
  • is assaulting, thretening or blackmailing you
  • does not pay you the money you have earned, is forcing you to live or work in inhumane conditions, or is forcing you into prostitiution, stealing or begging.

It means, you may be a victim of a human trafficking.

Data: 17.11.2023E-booking for fingerprint collection

We are pleased to announce you that starting 23 November 2023,  we launched a new e-service for booking appointments to collect fingerprint impressions through our website, which allows checking the status of your case. The implementation of new  appointment scheduling for fingerprint collection will replace the previous method of booking appointments through the Department's Helpline. The new service is easily accessible and user-friendly.
