An application submitted electronically through the Case Handling Module (MOS) must be signed with the foreign national’s qualified electronic signature or Trusted Signature. If the application is submitted on behalf of the foreign national by a legal representative — such as a parent, guardian, or court-appointed guardian — it must be signed using that person’s qualified electronic signature, personal signature, or Trusted Signature.
A Trusted Profile is a form of electronic identification that allows you to confirm your identity online and sign documents electronically. Signing documents with a Trusted Profile is free of charge. It is used for handling official matters and allows you to electronically sign documents using the online signing service.

If you use the services of an attorney or representative and need support while completing the application, they may assist you during the process. However, the application itself must always be electronically signed by the foreign national.
At later stages of the proceedings, your representative may independently submit other letters, applications, and documents within the scope of the granted power of attorney.
