If you want to work in Poland, but you haven’t found any work yet, you can change the purpose of examining your application into temporary residence permit for graduate looking for work or planning to establish an economic activity. If you have already found work, you can change your application to be dealt as temporary residence and work permit . A full-time studies graduation diploma of Polish university entitles you to work without a work permit. You have full free labour market access.

It is your obligation to inform the province governor (The Office of Wielkopolska Province) about your resignation from your university course. The residence permit will be revoked and your residence card will be annulled. If the office do not receive the information from you, it will be sent out by your university. If you would like to stay in Poland and your visa has already expired, apply for another temporary residence permit in accordance with your main purpose of stay in Poland before your residence permit will be revoked. If you don’t submit the application for another temporary residence permit, you will be obliged to leave Poland within 30 days from receiving decision to revoke residence permit.

If you applied for temporary residence permit for studying purpose, certificate of employment and amount of salaries, issued not earlier than one month before the date of submitting the application for a temporary residence permit, can be a confirmation of having sufficient funds to cover your stay in Poland. But bear in mind that if there will be any doubt as to the reliability of your declared purpose of stay in Poland, we might not grant you the permit (it depends on number of hour of work and number of working days) . In order to avoid this situation, always remember to indicate your main purpose of stay in Poland in the application form. If work is your main reason of stay in Poland you should change your application to be dealt as temporary residence and work permit.

If you are a full-time student and you have a valid visa or valid temporary residence permit you can work without work permit. BUT  if you are a full-time student and you work, we might not grant you the permit if there will be any doubt as to the reliability of your declared purpose of stay in Poland. In order to avoid this situation, always remember to indicate your main purpose of stay in Poland in the application form. If work is your main reason of your stay in Poland, then you should change your application to be dealt as temporary residence and work permit.

Financial assistance for the holders of the Pole's card

Documents that confirm the residence of family members may be, i.e:  confirmation of registration for temporary residence, premises lease agreement, premises lending agreement, notarial deed of purchase of real estate, employment contract or employment certificate, insurance for work, documents confirming business activity, certificate of continuing education, diplomas and school leaving certificates from Poland, confirmation of having a bank account in Poland, document confirming the sale of real estate in the country of origin (home, apartment), confirmation of children attending school/nursery and others.

Yes. A minor who has a valid Pole's Card may apply for a permanent residence permit following their the intention to settle permanently in Poland and then submit an application for financial assistance. The minor's application may not apply to parents and siblings living with a minor in Poland. Because minors do not have legal capacity, the application for the permanent residence permit and the financial assistance must be signed by their legal representative (mother, father or legal guardian).

Financial assistance will be determined in the amount of:

  • during the first 3 months - the equivalent of 50% of the minimum remuneration for work in force in the year of submitting the application - for the applicant and his spouse and the equivalent of 50% of this amount for each minor child remaining under the parental authority of the applicant or his spouse, i
  • in the period from 4 to 9 months - respectively 60% of the above-mentioned amounts. In 2022 the minimum salary is PLN 3010.

Example:

The applicant is a foreigner who on 4 January 2022 has submitted an application for Financial assistance for the holders of the Pole's card and in the application for financial assistance indicated that with him in the Republic of Poland stays his wife and his child aged 7 years. The financial assistance will be calculated as follows:

applicant: 3x1505 + 6x903=9933

wife: 3x1505 + 6x903=9933

child: 3x752,5 + 6x451,5=4966,5

Total: 9933x2 + 4966,5 = 24 832,5

Yes. The financial assistance is granted to the applicant and his family members who are staying with him in Poland. Applicant's family members who are not staying with him in Poland cannot be covered by the financial assistance.

Financial assistance may be granted at the request of a foreigner for a period of up to 9 months. Funds for financial assistance can be paid out only in a given calendar year. This means that the decision to grant a benefit issued in August can cover 5 months - from August to December. You can apply for the remaining 4 months by submitting another application, which we will consider in the next calendar year.

Funds for the payment of financial assistance for Pole Card holders can be paid out in a given calendar year. This means that the decision to grant the financial assistance to the Pole's Card holder was issued in 2021 may apply only to the months remaining until the end of 2021. (e.g. a decision issued in August could cover 5 months - from August to December, a decision issued in October could cover 3 months - from October to December). In order to receive the remaining amount of the assisnatce, you should submit another application. We can review the application in the next calendar year (If you received the benefit in 2021, we can only consider the next application in 2022).
